The purpose of this assignment is to gain access to a professional perspective of the topic of risk assessment in social work practice. In this assignment you will interview an individual who works in the field of social work. Please ensure that no identifying information of the interviewee or any client info is included in the paper. Invite the interviewee to discuss their role as a social worker and their experience assessing risk. This may include asking about systemic issues, common client presenting concerns, ways in which social workers support clients where risk has been identified, risk prevention, promoting safety/wellness, etc. You will also be required to reflect on your own experiences (biases, beliefs, values) with assessing risk, what you have learned from the interview, and how you plan to manage and mitigate risk through an anti-oppressive lens when risk has been identified. Please include a list of the questions asked in the interview, I will be looking for depth, connection to course concepts, critical analysis and key learnings from this process.
This assignment should be 4-5 pages in length and follow APA guidelines and connect to relevant course concepts.
