Overview
Reducing
the gap between the healthcare patients receive compared to what they should
receive is an important goal of healthcare informatics. Research and the
results of new treatments, protocols, and medication regimens could bring
significant benefit if the rest of the world could better recognize and
leverage this information. With healthcare growing (providers, researchers, and
patients) the volume of new information is growing faster each and every year.
Staying current and leveraging new lessons and insights is becoming
increasingly more difficult to the point that new changes seem to be happening
before the full benefit of previous ones can be realized.
