Explain some of the crucial class, demographic and social differences that framed how people lived in Europe prior to the First World War.

In crafting your response consider the following questions and prompts:
Explain some of the crucial class, demographic and social differences that framed how people lived in Europe prior to the First World War. Analyze the distinctions between the various classes: upper (aristocrats) middle (industrialists, bankers, shopkeepers, professionals), and lower (peasants, laborers, workers). Then, connect these class differences to a discussion of the main ideologies and their impact on the political landscape of this period (namely, nationalism, liberalism, and socialism). From these class and social distinctions, why is it clear that socialism and revolutionary movements were popular among the lower classes? What differences were there in the various countries, and why? Finally, close your answer with a consideration of migration: why did so many immigrate from Europe to Australia, the US, Canada, etc., in this era? Be sure to draw on and cite specifically from the weeks readings in your answer, making sure to include our primary source readings from Stefan Zweig and Adam Laboda in your response.
