Write and submit a well-rounded and analytical analysis that should not just provide a conclusion or an opinion but also an explanation of the reason or your reasons for the choice. Your
reasons are to incorporate your understanding and application of the course
material for full credit. Use the material from the lessons, text,
videos, Professor presentations, and/or discussions. Your grade is based
on your understanding of the course material and ability to apply it to a
business conduct related legal, political or ethical issue.
Post your case
analysis in the corresponding week’s assignment dropbox. The case assignments
are posted below in the Case Assignments.
The assignment
should consist of a Word Document, 2 pages in
length double spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins not including title page
and reference page. (Short papers will lose significant points!!). All
cases will automatically be submitted to Turnitin. Your paper should follow the
case format (below) and include a summary of the relevant facts, the law,
judicial opinion, etc.
Research the case using the case citation in
the DeVry Library under databases (select – Hein Online), FindLaw.com, and
other legal sources. Research the parties and circumstances of the case itself.

on the content contained in the actual
submission.
Each assignment is
worth 75 points. 25
points for Part 1, 50 points for Part 2, as per the format provided below.

Case Analysis Format
Read and understand
the case or question assigned. Show your Analysis and Reasoning and make it
clear you understand the material. Be sure to incorporate the concepts of the
chapter we are studying to show your reasoning. Your analysis should
follow the following format:

Parties [Identify the plaintiff(s) and the

Facts [Summarize only those facts critical to

on which the case turns. Try to find what the court states as the
issue(s)]
Explain the applicable law(s). Do some research
on the laws cited in the case. Be specific
Holding [How did the court resolve the
issue(s)? Who won?]
Reasoning [Explain the logic that supported the
court’s decision]

Part 2. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CASE
A. Explain how this case adds to your knowledge of the law at
issue and whether you agree or not with the decision. Give reasons based on legal, political and/or
ethical concepts covered in the course or
from other relevant sources. (Be sure to cite other sources)

understanding of this case, or from research of relevant sources, what recommendation(s) does this case specify ought to
or suggest that a corporate entity might institute to avoid legal liability.
Reference that part of the case specifically stating the recommendation or that
part of the case supporting your opinion of that suggestion.
