Paper Assignments—Generally:

A.Papers must be typed, with a one-inch margin on all sides utilizing Times New Roman font, size 12. Page requirements are exclusive of bibliographies, illustrations and/or cover pages.
B.Line Spacing: Double-space throughout the paper, including the title page, abstract, body of the document, references, appendixes, footnotes, tables, and figures.
C.Spacing after Punctuation: Space once after commas, colons, and semicolons within sentences. Insert two spaces after punctuation ending sentences.
D.Alignment: Flush left (creating uneven right margin)
E.Paragraph Indentation: 5-7 spaces
F.Pagination: The page number appears one inch from the right edge of the paper on the first line of every page. Cover Page and Table of Contents are not included in the standard pagination.
G.Running Head: The running head is a short title that appears at the top of the pages of a paper or published article. The running head is typed flush left (all uppercase) following “Running head:” at the top of all pages (including the title page). The running head should not exceed 50 characters, including punctuation and spacing. Using most word processors, the running head and page number can be inserted into a header, which then automatically appears on all pages.
H.Active voice: As a general rule, use the active voice rather than the passive voice. For example, use “We predicted that …” rather than “It was predicted that …”

APA (American Psychological Association) Citation Criteria:
Text citations: Source material must be documented in the body of the paper by citing the author(s) and date(s) of the sources. The underlying principle is that ideas and words of others must be formally acknowledged. The reader can obtain the full source citation from the list of references that follows the body of the paper. APA (is most commonly used to cite sources within the social sciences. This resource offers examples for the general format of APA research papers, in-text citations, endnotes/footnotes, and the reference page. For an example of APA-formatted references go to http://www.apastyle.org/ and Click on ‘Learning APA Style’. Papers not utilizing proper APA citation style will result in an automatic deduction of 10 points from the grade.

Discussion week 1
I am an RN. I am an international student and currently I am working for a specialty pharmacy in the Bronx. Initially I was hired as a specialty pharmacy nurse but then promoted to the pharmacy manager. However, my ultimate goal is to own a specialty pharmacy.

Discussion week 2
This week I did some research in pursuit of starting a specialty in pharmacy.
Review New York State board of pharmacy guidelines.
The New York State board of pharmacy is a part of NABP.
NABP was initially established to assist the state boards of pharmacy in creating uniform education and licensure standards. Our members consist of the 50 United States state boards of pharmacy, as well as the boards in District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, 10 Canadian provinces, and The Bahamas.
Today, we help support patient and prescription drug safety, through examinations that assess pharmacist competency, pharmacist licensure transfer and verification services, and various pharmacy accreditation programs. Our membership and staff combine diverse skills and backgrounds, which helps us create innovative programs that meet the public health protection needs of today – with an eye on the future(NABP website).
Staffing Goal,
In a time like this, manpower planning is critical. I have personally witnessed the effect of labor shortage on the place where I am currently employed. A new pharmacy at least would need one front desk( Must be bilingual), one pharmacist (full time), one pharmacist (part time), A delivery coordinator( must be bi ligual) and one technician.

Budgeting and resource planning
Budgeting is the key factor to any business. It acts as a fuel for any business. In order to fully fill staffing needs (Discussed above). We have to have sufficient cash flow since the pay scale is higher than other small businesses. For reference, a pharmacist get paid at least $55-60 per hour.
