Answer the following:
How has this crime/criminal justice movement impacted you and your life?
3- Underlying theories about criminal behavior are assumptions about human nature–are people basically good or bad, for example.
Answer the following:
What is your opinion about humanity and human nature?
4- Our text explains the three perspectives (outlooks on criminal behavior) and I subscribe to the Sociological Perspective for several reasons.
First, I firmly believe people’s environmental factors and forces impact their lives including outlooks, values, beliefs and ultimately behavior. Simply put we are products of our environments and if we want to change humanity, we need to fix the social ills of a society such as poverty, racism, etc.
Second, the structural inequalities of American society are those barriers which block access to success. One example is how the vital resource of education is not equally distributed to our youth resulting in children not being prepared for future study and/or careers.
Third, I believe the crime is the manifestation of the social ills within a society and not the individual.
Answer the following:
Please discuss which criminological perspective do you most identify with and why.
