Example Milestone 2:
Follow this example for submission:
Thesis:
Marcus (2014) is effective in arguing that people should demand more transparency about the time and cost of pursuing a university degree because he writes in a reader-friendly style, uses evidence from a variety of sources, and uses one student’s example as a continuing thread throughout his piece.
Body Paragraph 1:
To convince the everyday reader, someone must use a style that is reader-friendly.
Body Paragraph 2:
Good writing also uses good research, and Marcus (2014) does just this.
Body Paragraph 3:
More than large statistics that cover an entire country, one specific example can help a reader follow an argument.
Body Paragraph 4:
Many agree with Marcus (2014) and his argument regarding the need for transparency. Cassidy (2021) argues that “should have access to the same tools to make sure they’re getting the best value for their investment” (p. 14).
Conclusion:
Marcus (2014) is effective in convincing readers to demand transparency from colleges and universities as he effectively uses a reader-friendly style, employs good research, and touches readers’ hearts using the example of Alex Nichols.
