Essay 1 (Expressive): This two to three-page paper will be based on the article “My Story in Five Faces,” written by a journalist who reflects on her life by analyzing five personal pictures, taken at different points of her life.

Choose two to five photographs that reflect interesting stories/moods, and format the essay in a similar manner to Schultz.  Each narrative will be based on the pictures you choose to share. Include the pictures in your essay with a subheading (Age Six). If you are uncomfortable writing about yourself (or don’t have pictures to share), you may instead write about three people who have shaped your life (negatively or positively).
A few things to consider:
*Please spell out all numbers under 10 (“I am eight in this picture, excited to see Disney World.”)
*Please avoid cliches. Do not compare your life to a ride on a roller coaster — most people feel this way! Be fresh!
*Each picture can be composed of several paragraphs — organize well.
*Use complete sentences. Make sure every sentence has a subject and a verb:
Example of a fragment: “I always knew I was different from other kids. Odd, only happy when I was hanging around my dogs.”
WHO is odd and happy to be around dogs? Here is the rewritten version: “I always knew I was different from other kids. I was odd and only happy when I was hanging around my dogs.”
*Be original with your title — Schultz has already used the title “My Story in Five Faces”!
*Make sure your diction is colorful and evocative. Think about the mood you want to create.
Here is the heading for the paper– DOUBLE-SPACE AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 1 ” ALIGNED MARGINS ALL THE WAY AROUND THE PAPER. USE ARIAL 12 PT. FONT.
