What is justified belief?
Throughout the podcast, the people involved voiced their stories and critical information when it comes to judging whether or not their beliefs were justified.
I believe both the Greens, as well as Dr. Truman had justified beliefs.
With Dr. Truman, he had an expansive medical knowledge and an outside point of view which left him with his unbiased, unfogged claim that the Chemotherapy was the best possible treatment… Not the Laetrile usage.
Though I believe Dr. Truman’s belief was completely justified, I still believe that the Green’s beliefs were justified as well. The Greens inside look at Chad’s life, more specifically the impact the different treatments had on both Chad’s mental and physical health, left them with the belief that Chemotherapy wasn’t Chad’s best option… Leading them to the Laetrile treatment.
I do not believe that with justification comes factuality, this being proved by the Green’s justified yet false beliefs.
