Defining “Media”

Overview
Over the course of the semester we will be discussing, examining, and creating media artifacts. In order to better understand your background knowledge of the subject of “media,” (and to see where you are in terms of composing, organizing, and using sources in your writing) I am asking you to write a short paper in which you, in your own words, define and explain what the term “media” means to you.
Learning Outcomes
Adapt the conventions of academic English to a specific audience.
Utilize analysis, interpretation and the evaluation of ideas, information, situations, and texts.
Requirements
Minimum of 250 words (1 page)
Properly formatted in MLA format (12 pt font, 1″ margins, double spaced, MLA header)

If you use other sources to support your understanding, you MUST properly cite those sources in the text and in a Works Cited entry (Links to an external site.)
Use paragraphs to introduce your definition, support that definition, and connect support to your main idea
Paragraphs must each have a clear topic sentence, illustrations to support the point, and a clear explanation of how the illustrations connect to the point
