In this assignment you will locate, analyze, and write about 21st century uses in popular culture of imagery or ideas related to the Revolutionary era (roughly 1763 to 1783).

You may include with your essay with digital images, screen captures, or embedded links to the sources you found (at a minimum include links at the end with a brief explanation of what each URL links to).
Discuss the ways that the Revolution is used in your visual or textual sources, and consider the extent to which this is a subtle or overt attempt to persuade people about the product or campaign.
In your opinion, how effective are these depictions in persuading the viewer or reader?
How do these sources compare with the coverage of these topics in the US History textbook?
Finally, assess the historical accuracy of the images or rhetorical appeals: are these realistic representations of the historical events, or do these sources instead reinforce mythical or folkloric misunderstandings of the history?
You should have at least three specific examples in your essay, and stronger essays will also compare-and-contrast the sources.
Note: find specific references, as opposed to general themes like the American flag or the Tea Party movement. However, if you were to examine a political candidate affiliated with the Tea Party, this would be acceptable, as would the inclusion of the American flag in a discussion of other elements within a given advertising analysis.
