What experiences/beliefs/viewpoints/arguments/etc. in the material have changed in today’s world?

Moving on from biological/sex versus gender differences, we’ve started looking at the history of women’s “movements” in America. There’re obviously thousands of years of historical info about women before this point, but we’re starting relatively recently and focusing solely on the U.S. – a very limited scope (but it’s all we have time for in this class). For this discussion, after you’ve completed the film and the readings for the week, consider the following:
What experiences/beliefs/viewpoints/arguments/etc. in the material have changed in today’s world? And what ones remain the same? Better? Worse? For Whom? Some better, but with trade-offs for others? What bias influences the perspectives?
Make sure you back up any claim you make with actual, sourced (you can always use prior week’s info, too!) evidence (cited, as we don’t want to rely on personal experiences!) and feel free to challenge each other to disagree – in a polite way, of course. It’s not important that you agree/disagree with each other; rather, it’s important that we’ve covered every angle possible in the Discussion (even if we have to play “devil’s advocate” to do so).
