This week we are looking at chapter 6. This chapter talks about the impacts of trauma in the brain, the effects on the ability to functions in academic and social environments, and explore what trauma-informed spaces can look like. At times I think schools in Washington can have a hard time adjusting its sails to the changing tide of information, but the more we bend to the needs of the children we serve, the better off they are as the grown towards adulthood. Here are some of the videos from chapter 6.

1. Explain the difference between an acute stress event and long term traumatic experience. With the understanding, the impacts of trauma on the brain, Explain how this information can better help those working with children address behaviors learning difficulties of traumatized students.
2. Describe how a trauma-sensitive educational setting uses the multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) to intervene with traumatized students to improve their academic and social success.
