What you expect to be your most persistent challenges or complications?

My Thesis is “Managing strategy and planning for the future is the most important job for a media manager due to the market constantly following societal trends and new technologies.”
First choose the two themes / topics and mine readings for the five most relevant sources. It can be more than five, but that is the minimum. In addition to the five readings, consider the related podcasts for the sessions in which the readings were assigned. The readings need not be ‘balanced’ between the two themes/topics. One might feature two readings and the other three, or even one reading for the first and four for the second, etc.
You must provide an overview of each of the two themes or topics separately.
You will then connect the two to produce an original insight that will be focused on your thesis. Making this connection will be your creative, scholarly contribution to theory development.
You will conclude the paper by applying what you have learned in the course in a personal application. This is the self-reflective part of the assignment. Given all that you have learned in this course, what would you expect to be your greatest strengths as a media manager? What you expect to be your most persistent challenges or complications?
Draft an introductory paragraph that specifies the two themes or topics you have selected and why you chose them. The right reason for both choices will be related to the thesis you will develop and argue in the paper. So, specify the thesis in a statement*
Summarize the first theme and/or topic based on relevant readings and podcast scripts. Remember to specify how and why this theme / topic matters for your thesis. About 2 pages.
Summarize the second theme and/or topic based on relevant readings and podcast scripts. Remember to specify how and why this theme / topic matters for your thesis. About 2 pages.
Connect the two themes / topics to produce at least one original insight that is relevant to your thesis. About 2 pages.
Conclude with the self-reflective portion. About 2 pages.
References come last and are not included in the page count.
*Here is an example of a thesis that I might argue (this can’t be yours, so please don’t copy): “In
this paper I argue that managing media firms involves a higher than usual degree of complexity
due to the nature of media products as goods of several simultaneous types and the nature of
media markets as highly volatile.” I would draw on the readings about the types of goods and the
connect that with the high characteristic degree of market uncertainty, especially the chapter by
Lowe from the book edited by Lowe & Brown. Picard presented work that is relevant to these
concerns, as did Kung in several chapters as well as Oliver and Pratt in that assigned article, etc.

Not counting the title page and references, the paper length is limited to 8 pages in the specified
format. That is not a lot of space, so you need to be tight and well-focused. Pay attention to
grammar and formatting. Sloppy work reflects slopping thinking and poor time management
skills. Papers will lose points for mistakes in capitalization, spellings, lack of citations, run-on
sentences, run-on paragraphs, missing required sections, an unclear or missing thesis, not
including the title page, using any format other what has been specified in this overview.
