For this essay, select ONE of the short stories covered in Unit Two :

Then select a literary device covered in this unit:
Plot pp. 75-76

open a WORD document and format the document in MLA.
do preliminary research on your topic. Find three resources in the library databases that support your topic. (The sources must be from the schools online library) Spartanburg Community College)
Write a paragraph or two explaining the resources that you found and how they will be helpful in the development of your essay.
insert a work cited and list a citation for each of the three sources you found.
Underneath the citations write up a brief outline to give yourself a general organization for your essay. You may use any method of outlining you are comfortable with.

the final paper assignment is as follows : Create a unique thesis in which you describe which short story, literary device, and overarching topic you will analyze in your essay. Participate in the research process finding out more about the cultural context surrounding your chosen short story and the current literary conversation.
