Is it insignificant for a reason or has women’s involvement in war been more substantial?

Respond to the following prompt: Women have largely been pushed to the background in military history.
1 Prominent military historians such John Keegan and Azar Gat have argued that women’s battlefield contribution is insignificant and negligible.
2 Other historians have argued that women’s contributions to war are far more substantial, including in battle.3 Is it insignificant for a reason or has women’s involvement in war been more substantial? Use the lectures and the readings to argue (i.e, identify, defend, and document) how should we understand the place and role of women and society in war through history.
