Write about a time when you tried to convince someone to think or do something. What reasons and/or evidence did you offer? Were you successful in your argument? Why or why not? The position you were trying to promote can be something simple like where to go to dinner or more complex like purchasing a car. It can be an everyday experience like persuading someone to go for a jog, or it can be a serious experience like taking lifesaving medications.
In the first paragraph, describe the situation. Focus on what you said or did to persuade the person.
In the second paragraph, analyze your efforts and the experience. Explain why your efforts to convince were or were not successful. In particular, identify how you used the three rhetorical appeals, ethos, pathos, and logos.
