hink about a time when you were at your best–something positive and successful–and brainstorm ideas you remember about that situation. how did it begin? Who was involved? How did you get involved? What made it a positive experience—you, someone else, or just the situation itself?
Write the essay around the details you have just brainstormed. Follow a chronological timeline where you begin with the start of the experience and then end with the resolution. Read through the autobiography for details and think about whether the audience will understand the positive nature of your success after reading the essay. Add a separate introduction and conclusion to the paper and submit as a Word doc. via email in Talon. The Word document can be found in the “save as” function if you have a different word processor. The purpose for the Word document is that the formatting is consistent and helps with my grading/suggestion process.
The essay should be 500 to 750 words and remember that you are writing to a general audience. The reader does not know you or anything about your experience, so detail is very important for good development of your ideas and your challenge.
