essay should have the following parts, and should be in MLA Style
Title (short, catchy and/or descriptive)
Introductory paragraph:
Article summary including author’s full name and article title
Thesis (1-2 sentence): a sentence that states whether you agree/disagree with author. (Optional: List your 3-5 main points in thesis, too.)
3-5 body paragraphs: each paragraph should contain the following:
Topic sentence (first sentence) stating the main idea of the quote or paragraph
Quotation
Explanation of quote
Your response to the quote – elaborate on this part, adding a few more sentences to flesh it out. Add specific details/examples.
NOTES:
In your outline, you created 5 quote “packages” (containing a quote, explanation, and response). You are not required to use all 5 in your essay. Use a minimum of 3. Use enough to reach the minimum word requirement.
If you have two paragraphs that are short, you can combine them into a single, longer paragraph (optional).
Concluding paragraph:
Brief recap of the main idea of each paragraph (3-5 main points)
A short reflection/final thought
