Eng Lit assignment details:
The focus of the essay is the short story by Jamica Kincaid “Girl” critically analyze the “Girl” through the author’s use of one or two elements of fiction. Your essay must include the ability to understand the story through the elements of fiction the author uses to convey meaning, your
ability to compose a thesis, then have at least two claims that directly support your thesis.
Essay should have a compelling introduction which includes the author’s name and the title (in quotation marks), of the story you are
discussing as well as a strong relevant conclustion. The last sentence of your first paragraph should be your thesis statement. Be specific in
your thesis-specifically note the element(s) you’re discussing. Each paragraph should include a direct quote from the “Girl”.
Examples of elements: theme, plot, metaphor, character, setting, sensroy imagery, sympbols/symbolism, foreshadwing, metaphors, flashbacks, diction, or persepctive.
