A position paper is your opportunity to grapple with interpretation – arguing what the philosopher means and connections you personally see in the text in response to a specific question – then, applying the interpretation you’ve crafted to the choices of an individual n the midst of atrocity to draw out a lesson for yourself, and
close with your own argument on the same issue. It’s a true position paper in that you’re
arguing for what you see Aristotle, Kant, Arendt or Ricoeur asserting, and then giving your
own position on the same matter or concept.
