Book review will be done using APA 7th edition. I will take care of the cover sheet. The paper must include an abstract that begins with the purpose. The two main parts of the paper are:
1st major part: Summary of the book which reports what the author has said. Here is where you paraphrase what the author has said and edit the material. Embedded within the summary should only be 5-7 direct quotes that are “pearls of wisdom” from the book. Never ever say “I think,” “I feel,” “I believe,” or “The author thinks, feels, or believes” in the summary. Only refer to the author by name or the author he/she and report what the author stated, said, or reported.
2nd major part is the Application. You may use personal pronouns referring to “You.” However, still don’t use the words think, feel, or believe. Just describe how you would apply what the author has said to functioning as an educational leader.
To assist with the application section, my role as an educator is a high school magnet Assistant Principal.
