Topic: Compare and contrast the roles of USA and USSR in WW2 in several aspects
Form:
Introduction – must contain a thesis statement (!!!) = indicative compound sentence that summarizes exactly what the essay will be about
Body – 2 or 3 paragraphs, e.g. one paragraph for similarities and one for differences, or comparing and contrasting 3 different aspects each in their own paragraph
Conclusion – summarizes the essay; contains absolutely no new info!
Avoid:
Informal phrases (including any use of ‘Let’s’)
Use of personal pronouns ‘I’ or ‘you’
Abbreviations, short versions of auxiliary verbs or text language of any kind
Sentence fragments (if there is no verb)
