To prepare you for the Community Engagement Project (see assignment description under Week 3 or here: Community Engagement Project Description), find at least two online sources to research the culture you’ve decided study. For example, if you’re attending a festival, it might be interesting to learn about the history of the festival. Or if you’re visiting a museum, you may want to look into its purpose statement, or main theme of the exhibits.
In 200-300 words, draw from your research and describe the cultural history, background, traditions, beliefs, and/or values associated with your chosen culture. You may also reflect on your expectations, assumptions, thoughts, and feelings as you prepare to attend the event. This research and background information will be needed for the Community Engagement Project report due at the end of Week 5.
Provide links to the online sources you use. You will need to integrate one outside source when you write the final report and include the source’s APA citation on the reference page.
