Criminology – firearms

ASSIGNMENT INFORMATION
I hope you got the opportunity to listen to the podcasts and examine all of the course content prior to the first assignment. Again, please review the RESOURCE module as well to be sure you know how to organize and build/design your assignment.
The first initial of your last names will correlate to the transnational organized crime (TOC) you need to discuss.
Last name TOC_________________
A – E Firearms

Based on the course content inclusive of modules #1-2,
Explain the scope (prevalence/numbers, incidences) of this crime (you have been assigned) at a global and local Canadian level (2pgs).
Explore and explain the trafficking routes to/from North America (NO MAPS; .5pg).
How/by whom/where is this crime taking place in Canada either covertly or overtly? (1pg)
Who would you say is the most corruptible within this crime – Is it unknowing citizens or government agencies? (.5pg)
You will be expected to explain, correlate, and integrate 15 relevant self-identified concepts [15×1%] (key terms, statistics, author’s points of view) within course content inclusive of modules #1-2.
You will then be expected to explain, correlate, and integrate 13 relevant self-identified concepts [13×1%] from THREE new primary sources (technical reports, journal articles) and 2 concepts [2×1%] from ONE new secondary source (youtube videos, media news stories).
Bold or underline these 30 key concepts within your assignment. You can use more sources if you wish. The assignment should be FOUR pages, single-spaced, and 12 font with appropriate margins.
There are also additional assignment parameters you should be aware of.
No title page is required.
However, you will need to include an additional reference page(s) for ALL of the course content and new sources you utilize. Please know you will not be penalized if you exceed the page length. You can also feel free to write in the first person. You should not feel compelled to tell me anything personal or something you may feel is inappropriate. However, if you want to share, know that it will be confidential between you and I.
At this level, it will be expected that the essay-based assignment is written with attention paid to spelling, grammar, sentence structure, its appearance, proper citations, and references. I will not grade point form, so please don’t use it.
You can choose your own citation style (APA, ASA, MLA), and I simply ask that you remain consistent. Should this be problematic, it will be reflected in your grade.
