n Choose a topic and a medium in pop culture (please consult with the professor if you are unsure what topics are appropriate) as an example of your argument
n Write a short “think piece” that includes both information from your chosen article and your reading of that article with the topic (ie: sports? Comedy?) and medium (broadcast television? Streaming?)
n double space 12pt font, no more than one page
n Source: please use MLA style
Some questions you may want to consider:
n How are hierarchies and inequalities generated and maintained by representations in film/TV/social media/gaming/advertising etc?
n Who consumes/watches/engages with your topic and content? Young men and/or girls? Adults? BIPOC? LGBTQIA2S+? cis gendered? Etc.
n Are there any controversies around your example? (ie: cancel culture?)
n Who produces your given subject or topic? (Does it matter that Harvey Weinstein was the producer, for example?)
