Diversion Programs

research two specific diversion programs in use today in two different states, and conduct a program review. Before starting, ensure that you fully understand what is and what is not a diversion program. You are researching diversion programs that divert the youth from the formal system; do not select programs that occur within the formal system (i.e. probation, detention, training schools, etc.). Also, ensure that you locate specific programs (i.e. Sacramento 601 Diversion Project), not just information regarding a type of diversion program (i.e. family crisis intervention program). In your paper, use the below questions as a guideline to get you started; depending on the program selected and information available, you may include additional information. Each response must be written in complete sentences, with correct grammar and punctuation, and in essay format.
Guidelines:
Identify the name and location of the diversion program.
Describe the purpose of the program, how it operates, and target audience. How are youth referred to the program and by whom?
What are the costs of the program? Benefits and drawbacks?
Is the program effective in diverting youth?
Do you believe that this is an effective, worthwhile program? Why or why not?
Be sure to include additional information regarding the programs researched.
