Here’s a presentation that Janice Townsend (who also teaches at LMC) created about the history of racism.
Here’s what she has to say about it:
“I really wasn’t taught any of this in school. I was miseducated and undereducated in my schooling education. I imagine you were too. Our educational system is designed to perpetuate the myth of the dominant culture.”
Over the next few weeks, we will be examining our education and the myths we were taught and see if we can expand what we know and question what we thought we knew.
