Identify an important Health Promotion/Health Education topic specific to a designated group of people based on the determinants of health.
Develop an age-appropriate teaching program for a selected group.
Relate a Healthy People 2030 objective and research to develop the teaching program.
The Health Promotion Teaching Project is derived from a previously identified need in the family assessment performed by the student. The identified health problem/risk is drawn from the Health Assessment and linked to a Healthy People: 2030 objective – documented and properly cited.

Assessment and Planning

Prepare a lesson plan for the appropriate age group.
List the overall goal of the presentation
Develop 3-4 objectives for the presentation All goals or objectives must be measurable. Be sure to use Bloom’s Taxonomy as a reference.
Use Healthy People 2030 objective(s) that supports your topic.
Prepare an outline of the health promotion topic for the video/PPP.

Incorporate developmentally appropriate activities and content
Find 3/4 research articles (Do not have to be nursing) that support your topic.
Only 2 short Quotes (total) allowed in the PPTX presentation and/or speaker notes.

Implementation

Develop your “storyboard” for your video/PPP. Beware of copyrights of graphics and music.
Record the presentation and save it as directed.
Remember to include a reference page for your sources.
This is your key element for NUR 438 so it will need to be saved for your professional portfolio.
