Describe one of the three theories of normative ethics
covered in class: utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethics. Include an example that helps highlight
key aspects of the theory. Your example can be original, or offer commentary on famous thought
experiments, e.g. trolly problems etc.
Tips:
● Keep your description of the theory simple and boiled down to the most essential
elements
○ Remember: the short length is part of the challenge of this assignment
● Your presentation must be detailed enough that the reader should be able to fully
understand the theory and your example with no prior background
● No external research beyond the assignment and class notes is required
○ If you end up utilizing other sources, please make citations in the format of your
choice, following the general rule that the reader should easily be able to tell the
