CULTURAL EVENT REPORT
There will be three Cultural Event Reports required during the semester. The syllabus shares the following information about these reports, but I am making some slight changes from the syllabus statement (changes are in italics):

Each student must attend three cultural events during the course of the semester and submit written reports for each. All submissions must be done online through the D2L folder under the proper assignment name. The events have to occur over the course of the semester. (Because of the virus, I will accept one report about a previously attended event, but the write-up still has to be the same.)
2. Even though many events are held in this area, you should check with the instructor to make sure that your event fits the criteria, especially family or church events.

The cultural event papers for recent events should be submitted online within two weeks of attendance so that your impressions are fresh.
The written report for each event must be at least 500 words in length or one full page.
The report must contain the following components:
Introduction – state the name of the event and give a brief summary or descriiption of it, including its history. Why do they have it? Who started it? How old is it?
Development – this section should be your evaluation of the event. Describe what you saw/did and then explain how this event is related to the local culture/your personal culture. What might an observer learn through participating in or witnessing this event?
Conclusion – this section should restate your main points and end with a concluding statement that explains your impressions of the event.
