Did your ancestors develop this food during the slavery era to assist your ancestors who wanted to escape the plantation by throwing the hushpuppies at dogs on the plantation to keep them from barking and waking up the overseers and plantation owner while the female ancestors were trying to sneak food to those ancestors whom wanted to escape the plantation?
