Focusing on the economy of one country/region of your choice and analyzing, for example, their development path, issues they are facing, important economic decisions they’ve made, and/or other questions related to development economics that you are interested in.
Focusing on one factor ( Health care, Early education, Geography, Culture, Microfinance, or Political Institution) and discussing its relationship with development. ( note: relationships between different factors are often not just black or white, questions such as “What are the conditions for a certain relationship to hold?”, “What is the size of the impact?”, and “Why the relationships are missing or unclear?” need to be addressed. )
On inequality and growth. ( hints: How do you view the relationship between inequality and growth? How could we achieve growth without increasing inequality? With technological progress and changes in occupational structure, what are the new challenges?)
