Juvenile Delienquency Research Paper

For this paper, you will identify and analyze a narrative about “juvenile delinquency.” You may
choose to write about a popular narrative (i.e., one that is commonly expressed and/or written
about) or you may choose to write about a less apparent or well-known narrative. You may
even choose to develop your own narrative. Regardless of the narrative, you select, you should
develop a thesis that supports or critiques the narrative. In a 1,500-2,000-word essay, you will
provide evidence from at least four sources (at least one of which must be a primary source*)
to support your argument. While you may focus on any period in the United States history, your
essay should be clear about the time period you are discussing. Be sure to consider how social
and political factors might have impacted why your narrative was or was not broadly accepted
at the time. (Be sure to consider how narratives might be viewed/experienced differently by
different people.)

Follow conventions for a college essay; they should be proofread, have an introduction and conclusion paragraphs, clear thesis statements, and references that follow a standard in-text citation format, such as ASA.

Double-space your essay and use margins of at least 1 inch. Please use 12 pt font.
