Summaries shall include a basic summary plus a critical analysis and commentary of the strengths and weaknesses of the author’s arguments and research, as well as comparison with other readings or class discussion. In the writing summaries, explain how the article relates to our topic of community justice or community-based approaches to justice please remember to rephrase the author’s words without changing their meaning; restate the main idea and the supporting points accurately and in your own words. Provide a more condensed but authentic version of the original. Cite any sources and credit the author with original ideas and phrasing. Provide the author’s name and the name of the article in the first paragraph. See below under Assignment Details for details about writing a critical summary. Provide a critical summary of Farmer, Esther. 2005. “Community Development as Improvisational Performance: A New Framework for Understanding and Reshaping Practice.” Community Development Journal Vol. 36, No. 2, pp. 1-14.
