Choose one question of the three questions :

1. In the early 20th century, psychology and optimization often encountered each other and “in the process, performance, bodywork, economy and knowledge of the psyche forged a connection.” (ROTHE) Discuss the relationship between innovations in the management of “human performance” in workplaces at this time and the work of ANY TWO of the following artists: The Tiller Girls, Les ballets russes, Bertolt Brecht, Vsevolod Meyerhold.
2. Whilst Brecht’s Epic Theatre asks the audience to actively imagine change, Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed asks them to actively create change. Compare the relationship to business practices and working conditions in the work of Brecht and Boal. Support your discussion with close reference to AT LEAST ONE play by Brecht AND AT LEAST TWO examples of Theatre of the Oppressed in action.
3. “Flexible working is a way of working that suits an employee’s needs” (GOV.UK WEBSITE). Do you agree with this statement? Discuss who benefits from the flexible economy with respect to any TWO of the following: Kathrin Röggla’s we never sleep, Rimini Protokoll’s Annual Share Holders’ Meeting, Pilvi Takala’s The Trainee.
