Translating Knowledge

 Students will be responsible for listening to either a podcast episode or a recorded webinar/talk on a topic related to race and justice.
 Centering the episode/webinar/talk, students will prepare a 7–8-page critical reflection (not including title page and reference list), interweaving at least six (6) course assigned readings, to engage with course themes in a more complex and in-depth way.
 This is not merely a summary of the digital content, but rather, students are required to use the episode/webinar/talk as the starting point of an intellectually cogent, analytic, and systemic paper on the intersections of race with (i) community engagement and/or disengagement, and/or (ii) crime, victimization, and criminal justice.
 The purpose of this assignment is for me to see how you can apply course content (to also include the lectures- will provided in separate files) to lived experience.
How can the research (knowledge) be translated (used) to understand and make sense of the stories and accounts we hear in practice?
