Part 2
Candidates will select a grade between 7th – 12th and two content areas (Arts or PE +1) and unpack the standards using the template provided. If you need the New York State Standards, I included the links below
Directions:
Using the Unpacking the Standards. DOC.FINAL.docx, (See attached) Download Unpacking the Standards. DOC.FINAL.docx,identify the key verbs and terms in the standards to determine the processes or practices highlighted in these standards, the big ideas that are common between them, and strategies that can be used in both of the content areas.
Create three lesson ideas (lesson seed): 3-4 sentences to describe a learning activity that addresses both of the standards you choose. Include in your lesson seeds how you will assess these eventual lessons using the standards you have chosen. This should be something simple like “joint checklist that lists…” or “joint rubric that features..”, not a fully fleshed out assessment tool.
