Purpose: The purpose of the Summary Responses assignment is to ensure you understand and engage
with the ideas presented in the themed sources in this module. This Summary Responses assignment
will help you develop your position in relation to the assigned theme and prepare you to complete the
forthcoming Synthesis Essay.
Assignment: To complete this assignment, you should have carefully read, listened to, or watched the
themed sources in this module and reviewed the assignment model. Your Summary Responses present
your thoughts on each of the themed sources. To write your Summary Responses, complete the
following steps for each themed source:
1. Write out the author’s name and source title.
2. Write a summary response (around 200 words) in which you
a) identify the author’s main point
b) describe what the author shared that was the most insightful or thought-provoking.
c) explain how this author’s ideas affected your perspective on this theme.
Review the Summary Responses model in this module to ensure that your assignment is formatted
correctly.
Grading: This assignment will be graded based on the
