Therefore, you will provide the strategic decisions and clarify the resources available and advise the manager on how to manage the departmental operations with the resources provided. Your material should include four parts: 1. Introduction: this part should ‘set a scene’ by providing an overview of the organisation and/or department and its business goal and provide an overview of how it is reflected in operations. 2. Definition of the current operational issue: in relation to the above points, you should define the operational issue and its diagnosis – in other words, what is currently stopping the organisation from achieving the business goal through operations? 3. Solutions: based on the chosen operational issue and identified causes, you need to explain the organisational strategies, policies, and procedures which can be used as a solution to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Depending on the issue and‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌ causes identified, you may wish to consider some of the points below: • Methods of communication to employees, customers, and/or other stakeholders • Individuals that have responsibility for issuing, reviewing and revising operating procedures • Process to identify resource requirements to meet the needs of the organisation • Processes for reviewing individual performance • Service recovery procedure • Methods for collection and analysis of operational information that will enable the organisation to monitor operational efficiencies. 4. Outcomes and monitoring methods: you also should clarify the planned outcomes and how they are measured, . how do you know if the remedial actions achieve the planned outcome(s)? As this will be an internal material used within a specific organisation, the design and tone of voice should be user-friendly. You are encouraged to use images, graphs, charts, etc. in order to facilitate the audience’s understanding of the guidance provided. The textual contents should be no longer than 2,500 words in length and in case of a presentation no lo‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌nger than 15 minutes.
