day at the pier by dave musser
Week-1 discussion addresses effective teaching.
“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” This may have been attributed to Albert Einstein (1879-1955), whose theories scientists and mathematicians are still validating even today.
REQUIRED – For discussion, develop and post a narrative that addresses the following points:
a) – Name the subject/course you will be teaching.
b) – Name the one hardest, most difficult, concept/procedure/process for students to understand in that subject/course.
c) – What new techniques, illustrations, strategies, etc., will you use to explain the difficult concepts in your course that previous instructors (that you may have had, as a student) did/did not use?
d) – Describe how you are adequately prepared and have the ability to explain the difficult concepts in simple, understandable terms, according to the principles of effective teaching.
