Study on Positive and Negative Effects of Social Media on Society

Select a scholar article on a subject that is interesting to you. Write an analysis essay, of approximately 450-500 words, in MLA format which you:
Identify the elements of the rhetorical situation- introduction(1st paragraph of analysis essay)
1) identify article title and author(s)- provide the link to the article
2(identify the topic- the subject of the article
3) identify the intended audience- the readers
4) identify the author’s purpose- the reason for writing (informative or persuasive)
5) include a thesis statement- a claim about the overall effectiveness of the text- this should be the last sentence of the introductory paragraph.

Summarize the article-body( 2nd paragraph of the essay)
1) summary- the thesis and major supporting points of the article
2) objective tone- do NOT insert your own opinion or evaluation

Select 2 or 3 rhetorical strategies from the text- body(3rd and 4th paragraphs to essay) such as:
1)form(organization and format)
2)style(sentence design,word choice,and use of figurative language)
3)appeal to logos(logic)
4)appeal to ethos(credibility)
5)appeal to pathos(emotions)

Evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies and conclude your analysis- conclusion(5th paragraph)

You must include a work cited page at the end. Work cited page also needs to be in MLA format. The article that you are summarizing and analysising should be in MLA format on the work cited page.
