Midterm Paper
Your midterm will be a six to eight page (double-spaced) analysis of one of the following
movies or episodes: (1) Murder to Mercy: The Cyntoia Brown Story on Netflix; (2) Erin
Brockovich on Amazon Prime Video; (3) the documentary RBG on Hulu; (4) Hidden Figures on
Disney+; (5) Confirmation on HBO Max or YouTube for rent; or (6) On the Basis of Sex. Your
paper must include (1) a summary of the events of your film and the real-life event that inspired
the film (if applicable), (2) how women’s rights have evolved over time, (3) the struggles female
lawyers or defendants (depending on your film) have faced historically and currently, (4) relation
to what you read in either textbook, and (5) your proposal to solving some women’s rights issues
in the legal field.
