Write an anecdotal note based on the 2-minute observation.
An anecdotal note includes the date, time, setting, and who is present. Those should be on your Anecdotal Note.
Remember to write only what you saw, not what you think, or not what you interpret.

Writing Observations

This video contains valuable information to show you how to use observations to help you with assessments.
We observe children with specific goals in mind. We base the goals on what we have observed with the children. This video shows you three examples of what you can do as a teacher to use observation and assessment.
A typical observation assessment cycle might go like this:
Generally observing children in a group.
Plan more observations for children you notice may need additional assistance.
Set a goal for observing the child who needs assistance.
Plan any tools you might need (checklist, activity, other materials)
Observe, interpret your observation, and plan assistance activities.
Continue to observe and refine assistance as needed.

Project: Assessment for Learning

Research checklists that address early writing skills so you are familiar with what writing entails.
Watch the video (WRITING) with the 3 children in it who are writing.
Make your own checklist you could use to assess each of the three children. PLEASE DO THIS IN WORD AS YOU WILL SUBMIT TO BLACKBOARD
Using your checklist, assess each of the children.
Interpret your results by discussing with your instructor (set up an appointment with me)
With your instructor, decide on what are the next steps you will take with each of the children.
I have included instructions on how to make a checklist here in the assignment.
