Professional Disclosure Statement
Imagine that you are in private practice and are developing your promotional media (e.g. website, pamphlets, social media pages). Draft a professional disclosure statement (1–2 paragraphs) that includes your worldview about the nature of people, how and why they do well or develop problems, and how counseling can assist them in working through challenges. Note that the ACA ethical code does not allow counselors to make any statements of guarantee—so be mindful about not including this in your statement! This statement should succinctly convey your personal model of counseling.
