Fascism gave rise as a direct reaction and challenge to communism. In fact, most of the early citizens that were rounded up in the concentration camps were socialists and communists, and then the Nazi’s turned on the Jews. In some ways, though, the Nazi’s animosity to the Jews was derived from the same point of contention that they had with the communists.
