After the essay, Now, you are ready for the Reverse Outline. Follow the directions in TOK Essay Reverse outline resources and created a reverse outline of your essay. use highlighters to indicate your thesis & topic sentences. Use a different color highlighter to indicate examples, and a third color to indicate your connection of the example to your claim/discussion. Lastly, use a highlighter to show implications, use the highlighter function on your essay to do the same thing.
What are you submitting here? A Google Document that has the MLA heading and the title: Reverse Outline for TOK Essay. In the body of the document, in mini-paragraphs, give your thesis (how you respond to the title), then a summary of what you wrote in each paragraph as a sort of sentence outline. Then include a statement of what you do in your conclusion. Here is a link (Links to an external site.) to an example from one of last year’s students so you can see what I am looking for. This student printed the essay, used highlighters, made changes to the organization of her essay based on the reverse outline process, and then created this document to show the final organizational structure of the essay.
Once you have made any changes based on the reverse outline, you are ready to create your “IB Ready” version!
