Reducing Resistance to Change
Organizational transformation is difficult. In today’s world, change is the only constant that surrounds us. In business, it’s no different. For employees, this can be difficult to manage and upsetting. When striving for a successful transformation we must consider the different perceptions of those initiating change, implementing it, and being impacted by it.
This assignment will focus on the psychological aspects of change, and how to reduce resistance.
Your paper shall include a cover page and a references section, with 4-5 pages, double spaced, to answer the following questions:
Most resistance to change comes from self-interest. The first question often asked is, “what’s in it for me?”. How do you ensure that your change effort addresses a wide range of self-interests?
Misunderstanding and lack of trust are other drivers of resistance. How do you increase the level of trust in you during change?
How do you deal with powerful, negative stakeholders, that may be trying to actively derail your change effort?
What are ways to be more persuasive when communicating your change effort?
