Method: There are five elements to pure experimental design – random selection, random assignment, experiment/control, correlation/association, temporal requirement (the correlation/association happened AFTER the experiment). In this section you will describe how you best aligned with these elements, addressing such questions as 1) how did you ensure random selection and assignment 2) what was your experiment how was the data collected, 4) how did you analyze the data addressing the specific research question (restate this and link them to the method, such a descriptive statistics, correlations study), 5) what did the data look like, some general demographics such as number of women and number of men, etc. and so on.
Everyone will be writing a mixed method research paper. This means, even if your research question is quantitative, you will address patterns seen in the open-ended question in the results section, for this section you will state the method you will use to conduct your qualitative analysis. 3 pages
3. Results: Discuss your findings, you answer your research question. Include any charts, tables, or summary information needed. What did you discover in the narratives provided for by the open-ended question. 1 page
4. Conclusion/Discussion: What do the results mean, you should use your interpretation here. How do the results fit into the larger body of what is known on the topic? Were the results surprising or expected? What do you recommend as the next step for another researcher, to follow your research. What do you want to know now that you didn’t answer in your study? 1 page
