Report and reflection: Write a two-page – approx. 500 word or more response to the talk in which you address the following (make sure to do the steps in order)
OPTION 1: ID, EGO, SUPEREGO and Me
Compose a journal entry where you consider the following
First, in your own words, and with reference to the textbook, describe Freud’s Structural model, the conscious, preconscious, and subconscious and the relationship between its three parts (id, ego, and superego).
Then, in part 2 of this journal entry, address the following:
Which element of Freud’s Structural model do you think currently has the most control you’re your personality: the id, ego, or superego? Describe in detail. Share your thoughts on why you think this is so. Be specific and use real life examples and textbook material.
Then, in part 3, think of a time in your life when another element was the most prominent. Describe in detail. Be specific and use real life examples and textbook material. How was this period similar and how was it different from the present.
Finally, consider the following – is Freud’s approach really scientific? Why is Freud still taught? How is it useful? Argue for you points here – make sure to use textbook.
